  14. <p>   [Text] The Kurds of Western Azerbaijan have called for the
  15. restoration of their autonomy, in which the "Kurds would be
  16. masters of their future, their land and their conscience". The
  17. appeal issued by a general conference of Kurdish communities of
  18. the Lachin district and delegates from Kurdish communities of
  19. the CIS was signed by the honorary chairman of the conference,
  20. Vasiliy Mustafayev. "IF" [INTERFAX] has received a copy of that
  21. document from an authoritative source in Yerevan.
  22. </p>
  23. <p>   The appeal says that a "historic moment" has come and that
  24. "we are on the threshold of the restoration of the Red
  25. Kurdistan we have dreamed of and fought for so long". It should
  26. be a "holy duty" of each Kurd to "defend one's home from the
  27. Azeri aggressor", the statement says.
